Superstition at Open Studio DC on Saturday, May 4, 6:00pm-8:30pm. Students in the Corcoran’s MA Art and the Book program collaborated with poets in the Washington, D.C., area to create a series of prints inspired by the theme “superstition.” Work will be on display until the end of May.
Screenprinting Workshops for March, April, and May

March 17 - Introduction to Screenprinting T-shirts workshop - $135
The “Introduction to Screenprinting T-shirts” workshop is for anyone who has either never printed before or people who may have had some basic printing experience but either needs a refresher or wants to learn a little more about printing on fabric. The workshop will run from 11am-2pm Sunday, March 17. Open Studio dc will supply everything you need including a variety of images to work from. Workshop Price = $135.
March 30 - Introduction to Screenprinting workshop - $120
The “Introduction to Screenprinting” workshop is for anyone who has never printed before, and for people who may have some basic screenprinting experience but want to refresh their skills. The workshop will run from 11am - 2pm, on Saturday, March 30, 2013. We will supply one white T-shirt for each student to print on and take home. Open Studio dc will supply a variety of images to work from. Workshop price = $120.

April 28 - Introduction to Screenprinting “The Second Class” - $145
“The Second Class” is a workshop for people who took the first Intro class but are having a hard time getting started. We will work with you to design a project that is appropriate for your printing skills using your own artwork. We will also help you print out films. Students may email possible artwork for projects in advance of the class or bring them with you. New printing techniques will be demonstrated as well. The workshop will run from 11am-2pm Sunday, April 28, 2013. Workshop Price = $145

To Be Scheduled - CMYK/4-Color Separation Screenprinting
CMYK, also referred to as “4-color separation,” is a printing process that allows you to replicate color photographs either as they are or with modifications. Email if you are interested and we will try to schedule around you.

Workshops are filled on a first come, first serve basis. The maximum class size is 5 students. Advance payment is required to hold your place in the class - this is a new policy due to frequent last minute cancellations for classes with waitlists. Payment may be made by credit card through PayPal or with a personal check. There are no refunds for missed classes but if illness or an emergency comes up, you may reschedule for another class. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting ink on – the inks are permanent when they dry.
